The Emperor Motion Picture YUT GOR YUN DIK MO LUM (THE MARTIAL ART WORLD OF ONE PERSON) earlier held its production start ceremony. Yen Chi Tan and Yeung Choi Nei two nights ago appeared at Central for the location shoot.

Yeung Choi Nei earlier directed her first film CHRISTMAS ROSE (SING DAN MUI GWAI). At the time she already revealed that she will mainly be an actress. This time in YUT she played an inspector. Charlie Yeung Choi Nei and Tsui Hark in 1994 worked together on the film THE LOVERS (LEUNG JOOK). Since then they remained friends. Earlier when Charlie directed CHRISTMAS ROSE (SING DAN MUI GWAI), Tsui Hark who always gave suggestions to the film at the film company's invitation became the film's producer with another famous filmmmaker Jacob Cheung Chi Leung. Playing a doctor who violates his patient, Chang Chen laughed and said, "After I read the script I didn't really want to perform!" He explained that years ago he and Yeung Choi Nei spoke about working on a movie together, but he never expected his character was the last to be cast. He was not approached until a month before the shoot began. He said, "This character is very controversial, I never thought that I would have a chance to play a character who has something to do with sexual assault." Siu Mei said, "After I learned that Chang Chen would play the role I relaxed. Because we have worked together before, we already have great chemistry. I trust him very much. The sexual assault scene actually was scheduled for three days, but the shoot went very smoothly and we finished it in two days!"

Chang Chen and Kwai Lun-Mei reunited 5 years after PARKING in Charlie Yeung Choi Nei's directing debut CHRISTMAS ROSE (SING DAN MUI GWAI). Playing a paraplegic piano teacher, Siu Mei sued a Chang Chen played doctor for sexual assault. Siu mei in order to bring life to this paraplegic character lived and chatted with several handi capable women; during the shoot she put the wheel chair at her hotel, treated herself as handicapped and used the wheel chair instead of walking. Siu Mei said, "Using wheel chair requires a lot of arm strength. It's not simple. Early in the shoot, my arms were sore and tired." Has she been taken advantage of? Siu Mei laughed and said, "No, just take a look at me. I look like a boy."

Working with Siu Mei again, how did Chang Chen feel? Chang Chen said, "I already knew Siu Mei from her first film BLUE GATE CROSSING. We have known each other for over 10 years. This time we worked together again, I feel that this girl has grown up and is a big girl. This character of hers is very complicated, but she grasps it very well. The ending court scene surprises me the most. She seriously cultivated her emotions for a long time. During the shoot you can see her explosive power."

Before starting a family I have to think clearly. Because I have to spend the rest of my life with the other half, we have to spend a long time together. The recent generation of female Hong Kong directors included Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting, Ann Hui On Wa, Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga), Barbara Wong Chun Chun, Yanyan Mak Yuen Yan, Carol Lai Miu Shuet, Aubrey Lam Oi Wa. Starting in 2013, Charlie Yeung Choi Nei and Cheuk Wan Chi join the ranks. They most recently have gone from on camera to off camera as writers as well as directors, bringing a new front to the film industry.

After 20 years in the business Charlie has accumulated experience as model, actress and singer. Recently she was "promoted" to director and directing her first film CHRISTMAS ROSE (SING DAN MUI GWAI), which will be released at the end of the month. Many thought that Charlie fulfilling her director dream was by her own designs, but actually before making this film she never thought about directing. "In 2008 I suddenly had an idea and wanted to try to write a human story for the screen. Actually when I was writing the script, people around me affected me as I was very suspicious of myself. However I was able to persist to the end, the script competed in a contest and won. Originally I wanted Tsui Hark to direct for me, but he felt that I was the person who was the most familiar with the script. So he asked me to direct it myself."

Everything about directing depended on chance, the same goes for Cheuk Wan Chi. When she first came in contact with the film BAU 3 CHIU GIU WA she was only negotiating to play one of the roles, but the boss knew that she had short film production experience and asked her to direct as well. After agreeing right away, she even became its writer. "The Pang Ho Cheung directed VULGARIA (DAI JOOK HEI KET) seemed to have hog up everything last year, I too want to help revive the film industry. This time I am making an action comedy. Reminded that the market has fewer women films, I used a women's angle to make the action film."

As the directing fever started in the film industry, Vicki Zhao Wei, Simon Yam Tat wa and Nick Cheung Ka Fai have also joined the fray.
