Hey there! This week I am featuring the extremely adorable and sexy Jae-Joong (formerly known as Hero). Yes, I am painfully aware that I have only featured ONE female in the history of these Feature Fridays. However, I find it so much harder to fan-girl over other girls because, let's face it, these posts are just an excuse for me to look at pictures of beautiful Korean guys XD I actually attempted to write about Yoon Eun-Hye last week, but I only got a few sentences into it. Maybe my creative juices just weren't flowing properly that day.

Okay, back on topic :) Kim Jae-Joong is a relatively new obsession of mine, even though I watched his movie Heaven's Postman/Postman to Heaven ages ago. 

Jae-Joong was in the band DBSK (TVXQ) with Changmin, Yunho, Yoochun and Junsu. He is now a part of the band JYJ along with Yoochun and Junsu.

Maybe it's just because I watched the music video Mine, but he kind of reminds me of a vampire XD Does anyone else see this?

Kim Jae-Joong has been in three movies (Codename: Jackal, Postman to Heaven and Dating on Earth) and five Drama series (Dr. Jin, Protect The Boss, Hard To Say I Love You, Vacation and Banjun Drama). I started watching Dating on Earth, but for whatever reason I never got around to finishing it. I am definitely considering re-watching it solely because of Jae-Joong ^_~

This is officially one of my all-time favorite Korean dramas <3 Admittedly, it's not for everyone, but it is the kind of show that really makes you think. If you are someone who likes to skip episodes occasionally or multitask while watching, you may not get all the details needed to follow along. What I am trying to say is that this is a show where every event and person counts ^_~

I'm not the best at defining genres, but according to DramaWiki it is time travel, romance, fantasy, thriller, mystery and melodrama. Seems pretty accurate to me :P I definitely felt myself holding my breath at least once per episode and liking the character's more and more as the show progressed. I heard a lot of people say how annoying the main female character was, but she got less obnoxious as her character developed (and she lost the mushroom-head hair!). The lead guy was spectacular to watch and could really make the watcher feel his emotion, whether it be happy and playful, or downright depressing.

As far as time traveling, they don't use a machine or any weird contraption. The main character discovers an incense with the ability to transport someone exactly 20 years into the past once it is lit. Regretfully, each stick lasts for a mere 30 minutes and there are only nine of them, hence, the title ^_~ 

The Incense

I was very impressed with the unpredictability of this show and how it surprised me with every twist. There was a point in the later episodes where it became more ordinary, however, this didn't last for very long ;) The acting was delightful and most of the characters were rounded and three dimensional. There was one character who stood out for me quite a lot in this drama. Choi Jin-Cheol and his facial expressions!

Okay, that wasn't the only person who stood out, but I really couldn't take him seriously when he made that fish face :P Trust me, if you watch it you'll know what I mean.

If you have any more questions about this drama, don't hesitate to write a comment :) I'll definitely answer it. I also suggest watching the first three episodes before you decide whether or not to watch the entire drama. I was really disappointed with the first episode because I had heard so many wonderful things about it. It does start out a little slowly and you may be tempted to quite, but please, don't decide until you have watched three episodes!!

Coffee Shop By: B.A.P

I just recently found this band and it was love at first song <3 One Shot is my favorite so far, but the softer style displayed in Coffee Shop is delightfully relaxing. It really sounds like something one would hear in a cafe :) B.A.P's style in this new song is very different from their former more rugged and bad boy-ish vibe. The singing is very soothing and has a sweet and catchy tune that feels like honey in my ears ^.^

Hello there sweet honey cakes!! This week's Feature Friday is about one of my all-time favorite Korean celebrities, Rain <3 If you're familiar with the kdrama world, then I'm sure you have heard of him quite a few times by now. I have been waiting to write this post for a few weeks now, because he is turning 31 on June 25th, 2013. That's on Tuesday for me :) I'm sure fans around the world will be celebrating it!

Jung Ji-Hoon is known in many countries by his stage name Rain. In some parts of China it is Yu, Bi in Korea, and Pi in Japan. 

The first movie I saw him in was the 2006 Korean romantic comedy titled I'm a Cyborg, But That's Okay. 

This is a VERY adorable movie about a girl who believes she is a cyborg and get's sent to a mental institution where she meets Park Il-Soon (Rain).

Rain is in Several other movies and shows, including Full House (2004), A Love to Kill (2005) and the American movie Ninja Assassin (2009).

Currently, Rain is serving his 21 month Military Service, which started on October 11th, 2011.

This post will be a little less about Korea and a little more about me, the author of this blog ^.^ I thinks it's time I introduced myself in a little more detail. So let's start!

1. You may or may not have guessed this but So-Ra is not my real name. It's not so much that I wish to hide from anyone. In fact, I have told most of my friends about this blog and they are probably the ones reading this right now :) I thought it would be fun to have a cute alias...........kind of like a stage name I suppose.

2. I am going to be a Junior in high school this year and I can't wait to graduate!

     

3. My birthday is on November 13th so I'm a Scorpio ;)

4. I really love to draw and paint..........I guess just making art in general is fun :)

5. Before I watched Korean dramas I watched anime quite a bit. Some of my favorites are: Samurai Champloo, Soul Eater, Death Note (I still haven't finished it) and Darker Than Black.

6. When I was in eighth grade I dreamed of becoming a YA fiction novel writer. 

7. When I was three my mom put me in ballet, tap and gymnastics classes but then we moved and I didn't take my next ballet class until the age of 10. It was only a trial class and I felt awkward and didn't go back. On February 2nd, 2012 I started taking classes at my current studio. I now take three classes a week and will be en pointe soon :)

8. I am a bit of a clean freak, but on the other hand I can be extremely lazy. The laziness leads to a messy room, which then leads my life spiraling out of balance. To me, A Clean Room = A Successful Life XD

9. A few years ago, I became entirely obsessed with Criss Angel. If you are not familiar with him, he is a magician and illusionist and an extremely charismatic human being x _ x I still have quite a bit of respect for him, but that phase passed :P

10. I went to Thailand once for three weeks when I was 13. It was AWESOME!! On the way back we even stayed at a hotel in Seoul, South Korea. I remember being so amazed because there were TWO flat-screen TV's, A laptop, a small bathroom, and then another bathroom with a sauna @.@ And because it was in December it was freezing cold. The kind of cold that goes straight through your clothes and chills your bones. Too bad I hadn't gotten in to Kdrama yet, or I would have been even more excited then I already was :)

Hi Lovelies! Today's post is inspired by the Korean drama I just finished called Answer Me 1997 (aka Reply 1997).  If you haven't yet watched it, make sure to put it on your list!! Probably the funniest show I have seen and  I found my self laughing at least once every episode :) It is now one of my favorites, so try it out people!

Okay, let's get to the topic :) Seo In-Guk plays the male lead, Yoon Yoon Jae, in Answer Me 1997. My friend who watched this show before me, kept telling me how familiar he looked and finally figured out he was Chang Mo from Love Rain. Seo In-Guk is a fairly new actor, so Answer Me 1997 was his first major show. He won Superstar K in 2009, which launched his singing career and gained him some popularity.

Seo In-Guk has been in several magazines, including Nylon, 1st Look and Allure Magazine. Check out shots from each photo-shoot below :)

I haven't listened to any of his songs or seen any of the movies he is in, but I really enjoyed his acting in both Love Rain and Answer Me 1997. I also heard he signed on to a new drama by the Hong Sisters called Son of the Lord! Hopefully we'll see more of him soon <3

Hey bubbles! Today is the first Feature Friday and I decided to focus on the charming and talented Kim Ye-Rim :) These posts are going to be about a Korean actor/singer/celebrity who have caught my interest. Usually I end up stalking them and watching way to many YouTube videos XD When I saw Ye-Rim sing in Shut Up! Flower Boy Band I absolutely adored her voice! Of course, I ended up googling her as I usually do, but I soon discovered that she didn't even have a Wikipedia page :( But there's always AsianWiki!

Hopefully she'll act in more dramas or make more music because it's so hard to find her!! She is part of a duo band called Two Months and I've heard they were a competitor in Superstar K3 about a year and a half ago :) Look her up guys, you won't regret it! (I didn't).

Hello Gummybears! I have been really loving Lee Hi's voice lately and how it is so full and unique compared to a lot of female Korean singers. She has three music videos so far but I'm sure there's more to come, after all, she's only sixteen :P Her videos are all really cute and very visually pleasing like most Kpop M/V's. I mentioned her in my very first post but I'll give a link to her YouTube channel in this one as well. I would love it if any of you knew of another good singer and wanted to recommend them to me ^_~

 I realize I have yet to do a post on the subject of Kdrama and there is a reason for this :3 At the moment I am watching a really cute show called Nobuta wo Produce (here is a link if you want to watch it). It is Japanese, so it doesn't really fit into this blog, but it's so funny and the characters are adorable so I wanted to recommend it to those of you who are interested :) Anyways, have a good week everyone!!

Hello all my Kdrama, Kpop and Korean lovers! I have been contemplating this blog for a while now, and I have finally decided to make it :) I'll be posting here about anything and everything Korean related including random cute things that make me (and hopefully you) smile! :3

I became aware of Korea and it's unique culture about one year ago, when I discovered Kdrama in the form of Boys Over Flowers/Boys Before Flowers. It was like a new world had jumped into view, and I couldn't look away. I have completed thirteen Korean dramas so far, and even though that may not be as many as some, I enjoyed every one and I'll probably keep watching them until I'm old and grey :)

 With Kdrama comes Kpop, and I have found a lot of enjoyable songs and artists. One of my favorite Korean boy bands is Big Bang, G-Dragon and T.O.P are so awesome!! I also stumbled across the amazing singer Lee Hi (Lee Ha Yi)! If you haven't heard of her and you like Korean music, I highly suggest clicking that link. ^.^
