The 1989 film release ALL ABOUT AH LONG (AH LONG DIK GOO SI) was a box office and critical hit with over HK$30 million back then! 24 years later, the "film industry iron triangle" of Chow Yun Fat, Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga) and Johnnie To Kei Fung will reunite on the big screen for a film adaptation of the play DESIGN FOR LIVING (WA LAI SEUNG BAN JOOK ji SUN WOOT YU SUN CHUEN). To Sir will direct, Chow Yun Fat and Cheung Ngai Ga will star. Eason Chan Yik Shun and Tang Wei will also take part as the production will start at the end of September!

Last year Cheung Ngai Ga revealed that DESIGN will be made into a film. Later she turned the script over to To Kei Fung. Wai Ka Wai became the screen writer. Veteran actress So Hung Suen last month due to diabetes related heart failure passed away at age 62. Yesterday her funeral took place in the Universal Funeral Parlor in a Buddhist ceremony. Many of Sister Suen's family and friends came to bid her farewell on her final journey, but no one in show business appeared. Director Johnnie To Kei Fung who has known Sister Suen for years two days ago after the film BLIND DETECTIVE (MAN TAM)'s press conference reportedly rushed back to Hong Kong to attend the funeral, but he was not seen two nights ago or yesterday.

The ceremony completed around 11:15AM. Sister Suen's son Hui Fung Lun carried his late mother's photo with a mournful expression. He and his sister Hui Ka Kei got into the hearse together and headed to the Diamond Hill Crematorium. The ashes will be placed in the Clearwater Bay Cham Shan Monastery.

Sister Suen's husband Hui Sing Biu did not get into the hearse with his children. He first arranged for family and friends' transportation first, then posed with his son and his late wife's photo per reporters' request and left without any interview.

Funeral services for Veteran actress So Hung Suen and actress Lai Han Chi began yesterday in the Universal Funeral Parlor and Po Fook Hill in Shatin respectively. So Hung Suen passed away on the 12th due to diabetes related heart failure. Services began yesterday with the funeral taking place today. The ceremony is Buddhist and her remains will be transported to Diamond Hill Crematorium for cremation. Many friends in the business were heart broken over So Hung Suen's sudden passing. Gigi Wong Suk Yi broke down in tears as she remembered her late friend; Johnnie To Kei Fung rushed from Beijing to pay his respect. Junior colleagues Andy Lau Tak Wa, Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Carina Lau Ka Ling, Lau Ching Wan all sent floral arrangements.

So Hung Suen's husband Hui Sing Biu, son Hui Fung Lun and daughter Hui Ka Kei yesterday were present before the 3:30PM public event. Hui Sing Biu asked friends to donations in lieu of flowers to the construction of "So Hung Suen Memorial School" in Cambodia and donation boxes were set up at the venue. However many friends in the business still sent floral arrangements that filled the hall.

Hui Sing Biu and his son spoke to the media and appeared to be calm. Hui Sing Biu said that his wife was born in 1950, her age was 64. The funeral will have various Buddhist ceremonies. He revealed that Sister Suen was very peaceful when she passed, with a householder chanting for her to peacefully reach Sukhavati. Her ashes will be placed in Cham Shan Monastery in Clearwater Bay. He said that Sister Suen's wish was for her son to be able to manage her vegetarian store, to promote Buddhism and vegetarianism.

Yesterday friends who paid their respect included Gigi Wong Suk Yi, Nina Paw Hee Ching, Helena Law Lan, Pak Yan, Susanna Kwan Kuk Ying, Chan Ka Yi and others. Wa Jai joked that To Kei Fung's personality was the character's blue print. "I completely cloned how he mercilessly yells at people." Wa Jai said that during the shoot To Kei Fung "sang after scolding at him". He said, "As soon as the production began I had to blindly run around in a forest. I had no action director or protective padding, I never stopped. With so many people on the set, I couldn't mess up. After 4 takes I said that my clothes were soak through and I had to change. After a 20 minute break I had to shoot a tree climbing scene. At the time I was suffering, I was out of breath. I didn't expect To Kei Fung to say 'you are old'. At the time I wanted to jump on him and hit him. In the end the scene was still cut. Later at the press conference he sang that my strength was on the decline." He joked that next time he would not work with To Kei Fung on an action film again.

Andy Lau Tak Wa admitted that when he made BLIND DETECTIVE (MAN TAM) he imitated Johnnie To Kei Fung. In the film he was the most convincing with To Sir's gluttonous personality, as he and Sammi Cheng Sau Man ate nonstop. On street stalls they had stinky sausage, ice cream and a feast at a high class restaurant. Sammi who has been working hard to stay in shape but also loves to eat said that eating during the shoot was a gift. Luckily she had to keep running and was able to burn up the excessive calories.

Wa Ja in the film was blind but had many funny action scenes. In one scene he and Lam Suet were in a forest chase. Lam Suet was chasing after him with a hammer. The committee presented the Chinese Film Award For Outstanding Contribution Award to Tsui Hark. Andy Lau said, "I am very happy to be invited to introduce this friend. I have been in the business for over 30 years and made over 130 films, but I have only worked with him once. That time I learned how to act, how to find a movie that both the audience and I like. He enabled me to see the world from another angle, without forgetting my expectation and respect of you."

Tsui Hark said that he was very happy to receive the award. He thanked his collaboration partners, investors and good friend of many years Shi Nansun.
