Whether in fashion or in sexual orientation I would no longer be limited. As a professional artist, I should bravely take the first step toward things I haven't tried before. I can't be complacent."

Fashion designer Eddie Lau Pui Kei released his new book and yesterday held a forum at the Book Fair. He invited Denise Ho Wan Si and famous model Liu Juanjuan to be his guests.

Lau Pui Kei were close friends with late artists Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing and Anita Mui Yim Fong. Yesterday he talked about seeing Gor Gor for the last time at the funeral home for the first time. "Gor Gor has always been recognized as the hunk of the generation. I have known him since we were little, I never thought that he was handsome. When I went to the funeral home and saw Gor Gor sleeping there, at that moment I finally realized that Cheung Kwok Wing truly was so beautiful that he was flawless!"

Lau Pui Kei said that Gor Gor's face was undamaged. "He was sharply dressed and looked very peaceful, you could feel at that moment he was happy. Although he chose that way, he didn't harm the beauty that Heaven gave him."

When he was speaking of Ah Mui and when the vent played Ah Mui's song YEARS FLOW LIKE WATER, Lau Pui Kei and Ho Wan Si shed tears sentimentally. Lau Pui Kei said, "I saw Ho Wan Si presenting incense to Ah Mui at the funeral home. When I saw her eyes I felt that she truly loved Ah Mui very much. Thus when she asked me to make costumes for her 2006 concert, I used the same fabric that I used for Ah Mui's costume to create the continuation of love version." Ho Wan Si heard and could not help but cry.

Ho Wan Si praised Lau Pui Kei for speaking directly. "When he tells a story, you seem to have returned to the brilliance of the 80s." Ho Wan Si has already invited Lau Pui Kei to design costumes for her October concert and had to save the surprises for everyone. Lau Pui Kei said, "I know she will perform a concert, but I still haven't found the fabric yet!"

This year is the 10th anniversary of Anita Mui Yim Fong's passing. Design master Eddie Lau Pui Kei who has worked with her countless times remembered this song queen of a generation with an exhibit of 70 pieces of his work, including 20 some stage costumes of Mui Yim Fong. The exhibit yesterday held an opening ceremony. Chief Secretary for Administration Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet Ngor, former Director of Broadcasting Cheung Man Yee, Pak Suet Sin, Mandy Mui Suet Sze, Connie Chan Bo Chu, Petrina Fung Bo Bo, Liza Wang Ming Chuen, Jenny Lam Yin Nei, Zhou Xun, Hilary Tsui Ho Ying, Wyman Wong Wai Man, Andy Hui Chi On, Sammi Cheng Sau Man, Denise Ho Wan Si were among the guests. As soon as Lau Pui Kei saw Pak Suet Sin he immediately gave her a kiss.

When Lau Pui Kei recalled his past with Mui Yim Fong he broke down twice. He said that he met Mui Yim Fong on July 18 1982 at the New Talent contest. Since then their collaborations shocked the 80s. He tearfully said, "Over the years I only designed Mui Yim Fong's image, I only made stage costumes for others. I only admit to the chameleon Mui Yim Fong!" No Mui Yim Fong memorial concert will take place this year. Lau Pui Kei did not feel any regret as he felt that no one would be able to sing the Mui Yim Fong flavor. He stressed, "She was someone of love and honor, everyone can dislike her but no one can question her character! I never expect her to write such a will, which left me very dejected!" He again broke down. "I don't have any family, I grew up alone. I never expected a will would give me a relative!" At this time, Mui Yim Fong's ROUGE (YIN JI KAU) was played. He and Ho Wan Si both broke down when they heard the song. Lau Pui Kei said, "Many people asked if I was reluctant to leave the performance costumes with the museum? I wasn't. Ho Wan Si helped as a worker and greeted guests. She said that this exhibit was very meaningful on the 10th anniversary of Mui Yim Fong's passing. She said, "Lau Pui Kei and Sister Mui have battled shoulder to shoulder for years. His work has Sister Mui, Sister Mui's work also has Lau Pui Kei. This is the best way to remember her." Ho Wan Si revealed that she has already seen the exhibit two days ago and thought it was very shocking. She explained, "I have been a crazy Sister Mui fan since I was little, I knew her records, songs and costumes like the back of my hand. Yesterday when I saw the EVIL WOMAN costume that I was only able to see on television screens before, I was very shocked and emotional! When I saw the wedding gown that Sister Mui wore at her final concert, and Lau Pui Kei used the same fabric to make CONTINUATION OF LOVE for me and put it behind it, I already couldn't hold back my tears. (Was Mother Mui invited?) The organizers and Lau Pui Kei organized the guest list, I was just a little assistant. Today has many important guests, everyone should put the focus on them please!"

Hui Chi On and Cheng Sau Man were on hand, avoided each other and kept their distance. Hui Chi On stressed, "Today's focus definitely can't be stolen. The focus is on Mui Yim Fong and Lau Pui Kei. They have been my benefactors since I started in the business! Lau Pui Kei took me to shop for me first record cover. 25 years later today it still is a masterpiece of brown double collar suit jacket that is worth HK$16,000. I was reluctant when I borrowed several months of salary from the company to buy it. Mui Yim Fong gave me a lot of opportunities. Back then she often asked the company to release a record for me, which made me into today's Hui Chi On."

The exhibit not only displayed Mui Yim Fong's stage costumes but also Lau Pui Kei's designs for Lam Yin Nei, Pak Suet Sin, Michelle Yeoh (Yeung Chi King), Ho Wan Si, Roman Tam (Law Man), William So Wing Hong, and Wang Ming Chuen. Wang Ming Chuen loaned the Lau Pui Kei 1981 design of golden fan shaped evening gown to the exhibit. She said that she was the first generation artist who asked Lau Pui Kei to design concert costumes. The first time she performed at Lee's Theater she asked him to design four costumes. She said, "My early record covers were all his designs. He was forward but not 'outrageous', he was able to bring out the artist's aura." Would she invite Lau Pui Kei to work together again? Wang Ming Chuen joked that he now only works with brand name labels. Perhaps only Ho Wan Si would be able to bring him out of retirement.

Famous fashion and image designer Lau Pui Kei earlier said in a radio interview recording that starting tomorrow to January 13 his work will be on display at the Heritage Museum. This year happened to be the tenth anniversary of Anita Mui Yim Fong's passing, visitors will have a chance to catch a glimpse of Mui Jeh's classic stage fashion. Mui Jeh's protege Denise Ho Wan Si also attended in support. Lau Pui Kei said, "Over the years I made so many pieces, the most sentimental was Mui Jeh's white wedding gown." Today an opening ceremony will take place. Friends like Eason Chan Yik Shun and Liza Wang Ming Chuen will attend.

Suffering from diabetes, So Hung Suen yesterday passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at the age of 62. Earlier her right foot began to rot and she had numerous operations. She had to remove the rotten flesh on one of her toes and the bottom of her foot. Reportedly aside from diabetes she also had a light stroke and a tumor in her belly.

So Hung Suen's son last night around 8PM announced the news of his mother's passing to the media. "Mommy around 4PM left this world. She went very peacefully. Mommy's final journey will be handled with a Buddhist ceremony." He revealed that his mother passed away from complications from a stroke. "The doctor will discuss the details. I want to say that Mommy went very peacefully. Most of the most important family members were around her, so Mommy had no regret." So Hung Suen's husband Hui Sing Biu arrived around 8:30PM. He looked calm and often covered his mouth with his hand.

Law Lan and Yu Mo Lin who have always stayed in touch with So Hung Suen yesterday confirmed the news of So Hung Suen's passing. Yu Mo Lin said, "Earlier she suffered a stroke and her belly had a tumor. However the worst part was she was anemic, her body was very weak. The doctor didn't dare to operate on her." Law Lan was rather sadden by the passing of her good friend. She admitted that she heard the news from Maggie Chan Mei Kei. "Sunday I went to her home. She was speaking and called me Sister Law Lan."

Playing mother and son with So Hung Suen in the classic series POLICE CADET (SUN JAT SI HING), Tony Leung Chiu Wai was very sadden to learn about her death. "Sister Suen and I are both Buddhists, I hope Sister Suen will soon reach Sukhavati. I will always remember the destiny of working with her." His wife Carina Lau Ka Ling said, "Sister Suen was a very gentle actress without any grievance with the world. She was serious about work, kind and caring to her colleagues. I wish for her to reach Sukhavati soon. She will forever live in my heart." Johnnie To Kei Fung, the director of So Hung Suen's final work LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM), said that he just dined with her several months ago. He admitted that the news came too suddenly. "Ultimately life in the end requires a period. Aside from her outstanding acting, her merciful and charitable heart has put a perfect period to her life."

So Hung Suen in 1972 enrolled in TVB's first artist training class, with classmates like Ching Ho Wai, Hui Siu Hung and Kam Kwok Leung. Because Sister So looked older than her actual age, she often played mother or elderly characters. Sister So's acting was excellent as she participated in around 50 television series. She had a lot of representative work, her best known character was Leung Chiu Wai's mother in POLICE CADET. In 1996 she left TVB to assist her husband in their Buddhist vegetarian restaurant business. However she returned to ATV in 1999 for a series and would occasionally participate in film as well. Last year with LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE she won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actress. However at the time she was being treated for diabetes at the hospital, thus she was unable to personally accept the award.

So Hung Suen's vegetarian restaurant business also suffered several setbacks. In 2005 due to rapidly rising rent, she and her husband decided to close their Mongkok vegetarian restaurant. In 2006 they began to sell pillows at a Fa Yuen Street stall with a daily rent of HK$400. Then in 2008 they opened the Cute Fei Vegetarian restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui. It is still in operation. She and her husband also met due to the vegetarian restaurant. They wed in 1988 and had a son and a daughter. So Hung Suen's final public appearance was on January 27 at a Karmapa public event, also on hand were Annie Liu On Lai, Bonnie Law Ming Chu and Fennie Yuen Kit Ying.

Winning the Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actor in 2012 with So Hung Suen, Lo Hoi Pang said, "Half a year ago I went to To Kei Fung's party with Sister Suen. I learned that her health was poor and she was much thinner. (Were you thinking about asking her to watch your show?) I didn't want to disturb her! Diabetes really is troublesome."

Her first training class classmate Kam Kwok Leung said, "We had no contact in recent years. Earlier when I was a Hong Kong Film Award juror. When she won with LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE, people misunderstood that it was because we were classmates. (Did you feel heartbroken and sudden when you heard the news?) No, at a certain age people expect it, instead I would see if there is anything that I want to. I would try to do it instead of safeguarding my life. This should be the attitude to have in life. She believed in the Buddha, I believe she would think that way."

Fellow training class classmate Hui Siu Hung said, "I heard the news. I rarely contact old classmates. Recently I haven't seen her. I knew that she had diabetes and a tumor, which were quite troublesome."

Performing Artist Guild secretary general Astrid Chan Chi Ching said, "The Performing Artist Guild now is contacting Sister Suen's family. If any need arises, the Performing Artist Guild will fully assist. Sister Suen was a very nice person, I am very saddened."

So Hung Suen's LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE co-star Denise Ho Wan Si said, "Sister Suen was a good actress who show business should have more of, being able to work with her in LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE was my honor. I will always miss her!"

Denise Ho Wan Si's play AWAKENING two nights ago performed its 100th show in Chongqing. She publicly thanked her late mentor Anita Mui Yim Fong. She said that if she did not learn to be brave and absolutely sincere from her mentor, she would not be where she is today. Thus she dedicated this show to Mui Yim Fong. Before the show, Ah Si expressed online that she often imagined her mentor in the audience and she hoped that she would be comforted.
